Dear Man,
A startling amount of my life, I spend asleep.
When I am asleep, I cannot choose. I do not have access to all the tools, possibilities, and love that I could source right now. Also, life is simply not that fun.
The juice comes when I am awake.
It is uncomfortable to come awake. It means rowing against the current of unconsciousness roaring through me. For a while.
To stay awake, I need willpower, clarity, integrity, and commitment. All use anger as fuel.
In short, it takes anger to stay awake—lots of it.
Sounds great?
There are consequences to staying awake. You will burn. All that is not truly you will start to become painful, so painful it disintegrates. You might find the life you’re living starting to crumble.
And then you might start actually living.
